What is a pd?

A PD (Parkinson's Disease) is a degenerative disorder of the nervous system that affects movement. It is caused by the loss of dopamine-producing cells in the brain, leading to symptoms such as tremors, stiffness, and difficulty with balance and coordination. PD is a progressive disease, meaning symptoms worsen over time. Although there is no cure for PD, treatments such as medications, surgery, and physical therapy can help manage symptoms and improve quality of life. The cause of PD is currently unknown, but factors such as genetics, environmental toxins, and oxidative stress are believed to play a role. PD is typically diagnosed based on a patient's symptoms, medical history, and neurological examination.
